The Indiana Debate Commission is offering 650 free tickets to the public for the last of its three U.S. Senate debates, which is scheduled at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at Vincennes University on Monday, October 25.
The 8 p.m. (Eastern time) one-hour live broadcast will be moderated by Anne Ryder. Ryder is a freelance television journalist, magazine columnist, and national speaker. She was the longest tenured anchor in the history of WTHR-TV (NBC) in Indianapolis before she left in 2004. (The broadcast will air on Central time at 7 p.m.)
“Our three debates will provide Hoosiers considerable opportunities to hear from the candidates. Voters also have the option to watch archives of the debates online at the commission website for 30 days following each broadcast,” said Dennis Ryerson, president of the commission and editor of The Indianapolis Star.
Questions for the three candidates, Dan Coats, Brad Ellsworth and Rebecca Sink-Burris, can be submitted for consideration for the remaining debates in Fort Wayne and Vincennes at www.indianadebatecommission.com.
Questions can also be mailed to the commission’s Indianapolis office at 3909 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, Ind., 46208.
Candidates are not provided the questions in advance. Those people whose questions are selected by the commission will be asked to join the live broadcast in Vincennes as commission guests and to ask their questions.
The commission also provides for a free satellite feed for broadcast outlets.
Thirty media outlets, including C-SPAN in Washington, D.C., carried the Monday night broadcast of the Indianapolis debate.
Vincennes debate tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis in person or by phone order. According to the commission, only two tickets will be allowed per person.
No group tickets will be accommodated.
